Structural policies focus on the supply side of the economy. They aim to increase the level of potential output by raising the supply of factors of production (labour or capital). Alternatively, they aim to improve the functioning of labour, capital or product markets thus increasing the efficiency with which factors are combined and the flexibility with which an economy responds to shocks.
