Commission investigations in Greece revealed that the customs document serving to prove that the oil was of Community origin was not issued in Heraklion but was a forgery. The bills of lading were drawn up in Greece to give the impression that it was Greek olive oil that had been taken on board in Heraklion. Second example The ship arrived in Barletta from Piraeus.
