(58) Contrary to what the company suggests in its representations, the "Nice Protocol on the financial consequences of the expiry of the ECSC Treaty and on the research fund for coal and steel" does not resolve the issue of the legal framework after the expiry of the ECSC Treaty in a general way, but rather, provides clarification of a very specific issue (the future use of certain ECSC funds), which bears no relationship to the issues with which the present Decision deals.

(10) By Decision 98/637/ECSC, the Commission recognised the conformity of the 1998 to 2002 phase of the plan notified by Spain for modernisation, rationalisation, restructuring and activity-reduction in the coal industry with the general and specific objectives of Decision No 3632/93/ECSC.

These provisions shall apply without prejudice to Decision 95/167/EC, Euratom, ECSC of the European Parliament, of the Council and of the Commission of 19 April 1995 on the detailed provisions governing the exercise of the European Parliament’s right of inquiry and the relevant provisions of Commission Decision 1999/352/EC, ECSC, Euratom of 28 April 1999 establishing the European Anti-fraud Office (OLAF) .

Whereas certain measures the Commission has taken relating to prices on the common market in steel will still be in force in 1983; whereas in addition the Commission has established by Decision No 1831/81/ECSC (1), as last amended by Decision No 1696/82/ECSC (2), a system of quotas in order to balance supply and demand for certain iron and steel products; whereas the governments of certain third countries have assured the Commission of their cooperation in this respect; whereas by Decision No 527/78/ECSC (3), as last amended by Decision No 836/82/ECSC (4), the Commission has withdrawn the right of Community undertakings to align on of ...[+++]fers of certain iron and steel products originating in these third countries;
