I will not repeat what Mr Reynders has said about the stability and convergence programme, the efforts made by the Commission and the work done by the task force. I will just mention the idea – which I find useful – of a European Semester, which will put the budgetary analysis of each of our countries into perspective while preserving their sovereignty, and will provide a snapshot – another European radar screen – of the countries’ general economic policy guidelines.

Je ne répéterai pas ce qu’a dit Didier Reynders sur le programme de stabilité et de convergence, les efforts fournis par la Commission, les travaux de la task force, notamment cette idée, que je trouve utile, de semestre européen, qui permettra de mettre en perspective l’analyse budgétaire de chacun des pays, tout en préservant leur souveraineté et d’avoir une photographie, un écran radar européen là aussi, sur les orientations générales des pays en matière de politique économique.
