The first such regional initiative was the Asia Forest Law Enforcement and Governance process. This has made considerable progress in raising political commitment to address illegal logging, and in bringing together the governments of timber-producing and consuming countries, local and international civil society, the private sector, and donors, in a co-ordinated programme of work.
