He is also a true Renaissance man, with experience in a wide variety of fields as a Royal Canadian Air Force pilot, a commercial pilot, a police officer, a businessman, a rancher, a farmer, a member of Parliament, a cabinet minister, a national caucus chair and, for two terms, the President of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada during times, at least in the latter part of his term, when it was not easy, as he mentioned, to be president.
