(2) Every ship of 500 tons or more that is engaged on an international voyage or a voyage other than a home-trade voyage, Class IV, or a minor waters voyage shall be fitted with a gyro-compass bearing repeater, or other means, that can be used to take bearings over an arc of the horizon of 360º, using the gyro-compass or other means referred to in paragraph (1)(a).
