At the request of stakeholders, clause 251 was included in the bill to allow for an action in rem in the appropriate court, by a person who had contracted with the authorized representative or a bare-boat charterer of a vessel in Canada to provide stevedoring, for a claim in respect of the stevedoring.
L’article 251 a été incorporé au projet de loi, à la demande des intervenants, afin de permettre à toute personne ayant conclu au Canada un contrat d’arrimage avec le représentant autorisé ou l’affréteur coque nue d’intenter une action réelle devant un tribunal compétent pour toute réclamation relative à l’arrimage.
