While the US has been working on one comprehensive piece of legislation, the Dodd-Frank Act, the EU is strengthening financial regulation via several pieces of legislation.

I would hope, as we examine this bill, that if certain amendments are put forward, we'll discuss this and strengthen it, because that's our purpose here: to strengthen this piece of legislation.
