The Federal Republic of Germany, the Hellenic Republic, the French Republic, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Finland and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland requested the Commission to set up Euro-Argo Research Infrastructure as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (Euro-Argo ERIC).

The French Republic has been chosen by the Federal Republic of Germany, the Hellenic Republic, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Finland and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as the Host Member State of Euro-Argo ERIC.
