Under Canada's economic action plan, the government has invested over $240 million in public transit projects through the infrastructure stimulus, including $39 million for various projects in Calgary and $101 million for projects in the greater Toronto area.

For example, the government's own numbers show that in the first year only 25% of the infrastructure stimulus fund of $2 billion was spent and only 3% of the green infrastructure fund was accessed.

In response to the finance committee's pre-budget study, the CPWA has surveyed its membership about the effectiveness of the infrastructure stimulus fund, the $4-billion two-year fund announced in the budget.
