The Council and the representatives of the Governments of the Member States, meeting within the Council, approved the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the International Registration of Marks. The Protocol provides not only that the Community as such can become a party thereto, but also that the Community, as a Contracting Party, will have its own vote in the Madrid Union Assembly.
