We have heard consistently from the Department of Justice and the minister herself that many of the reasons behind the necessity of tightening Canada's grasp of information, bypassing the information and privacy commissioner, doing away, to a large extent, with the access to information provisions, allowing the issuance of a certificate that completely cloaks government information for reasons of national defence or security, or the other nebulous definition of international relations.Is there a sentiment out there somehow that Canada has weak access to information laws?
