La présente directive se conforme à l'approche suivie par la législation communautaire en matière d'assurance, en réalisant l'harmonisation essentielle, nécessaire et suffisante pour garantir une reconnaissance mutuelle des agréments et des systèmes de contrôle prudentiel et permettre ainsi l'octroi d'un agrément unique valable dans toute la Communauté, ainsi que l'application du principe du contrôle par l'État membre d'origine.
This Directive follows the approach of Community legislation adopted in respect of direct insurance by carrying out the harmonisation which is essential, necessary and sufficient to ensure the mutual recognition of authorisations and prudential control systems, thereby making it possible to grant a single authorisation valid throughout the Community and apply the principle of supervision by the home Member State.
