Le 11 février 2014, le président de la commission de la pêche du Parlement européen a adressé une lettre au président du Comité des représentants permanents (1re partie) indiquant que, dans le cas où le Conseil transmettrait formellement sa position en première lecture au Parlement dans les termes qui figurent à l'annexe de la lettre, il recommanderait à la plénière du Parlement que la position du Conseil en première lecture soit approuvée en deuxième lecture au Parlement sans amendement, sous réserve de la vérification du texte par les juristes-linguistes des deux institutions.
On 11 February 2014, the Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries addressed a letter to the Chairman of the Permanent Representatives Committee (Part One) stating that, should the Council transmit formally its own first-reading position to the Parliament in the form set out in the Annex to that letter, he would, subject to verification by the lawyer-linguists of both institutions, recommend to the Parliament's plenary session that it should, in the Parliament's second reading, accept the Council's position at first reading without amendment.
