The new provisions in the bill provide clearly for the appointment even the rank, as a matter of fact and for the role of legal advisor to the government in matters of military law and that attorney general-like role of reviewing and reporting on the administration of military justice and for meeting the requirement to report annually to Parliament.We now have an actor with accountable standards, and that actor can direct himself or herself to the role and be held accountable on the basis of clear standards.
Les nouvelles dispositions du projet de loi expliquent clairement la nomination, et même le rang ainsi que le rôle du conseiller juridique auprès du gouvernement en matière de droit militaire; il s'agit d'un rôle semblable à celui du vérificateur général. Le titulaire est donc responsable de l'examen de l'administration de la justice militaire, de la rédaction d'un rapport à cet égard; il doit de plus soumettre un rapport annuel au Parlement. Nous avons donc désormais un intervenant qui doit respecter des normes et qui doit rendre compte de ses activités.
