calls for development that respects the complexity of life-realities in the urban areas, regular updating and dissemination of data allowing better evaluation of the situation in towns and cities and urban agglomerations or areas, as well as major support for the URBAN AUDIT programme;

The lack of strong commitment from the Member States would undermine our efforts towards strengthening the urban dimension in our policy and it would call into question some of our concrete initiatives, like the Urban Audit programme.

i. calls for the development respecting the complexity of life realities in the urban areas, regular updating and dissemination of data allowing of better evaluation of the situation of towns and cities and urban agglomerations or areas, as well as major support for the URBAN AUDIT programme;

presenting the Commission, within nine months of the approval of the operational programme, an audit strategy covering the bodies which will perform the audits pursuant to points (a) and (b), the method to be used, the sampling method for audits on operations, and the indicative planning of audits to ensure that the main bodies are audited and that audits are spread evenly throughout the programming period.
