We would have thought that this government would tighten the screws in line with the old Liberal tradition to defend Canada's cultural identity. We thought that a Liberal government more sensitive to the important realities and symbols of cultural identity would come to the rescue of this threatened industry.
Alors, on pouvait penser que ce gouvernement resserrerait la vis, que, s'étant identifié depuis tout le temps dans la vieille tradition libérale, il faut le reconnaître, à la défense de l'identité culturelle, plus sensible à ces réalités et à ces symboles importants que représente l'identité culturelle, on verrait le gouvernement libéral intervenir à la rescousse d'une industrie en danger et menacée.
