The instrumental method of chemical analysis using mercury drop electrodes is well known, and in 1959, the Czech academic Heyrovský won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for this process, which he termed polarography.
La méthode instrumentale d’analyse chimique utilisant des électrodes à goutte de mercure est bien connue et, en 1959, l’universitaire tchèque Heyrovský a remporté le prix Nobel de chimie pour ce procédé, qu’il a nommé la polarographie.
