The Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE), the federation of Mediterranean non-Governmental organisations working in the areas of the environment and development, meeting in Athens on 2 November 2000, opposed the construction of the Olympic Rowing Centre in Schinias and called for protection of the biotope that is already proposed for inclusion among the sites to be protected under the NATURA 2000 EU network, and of the heritage.
Le Bureau d'information méditerranéen pour l'environnement, la culture et le développement durable, la Fédération des organisations méditerranéennes non gouvernementales œuvrant dans les domaines de l'environnement et du développement, réunis à Athènes le 2 novembre 2000, se sont opposés à la construction du centre olympique d'aviron des Schinias et demandé la protection de ce biotope et de son patrimoine dont l'inclusion parmi les sites à protéger en vertu du réseau NATURA 2000 a déjà été proposée.
