Through the enforcement and administration of this legislation in Quebec, the Government of Quebec was able, in April 1996, to hand out an initial important sentence in a case where the former owner of an outfitting operation was fined for using bait to hunt ducks, which is contrary to the regulations under the Migratory Bird Convention.
Par l'application et la gestion de cette loi en sol québécois, le gouvernement du Québec a d'ailleurs pu rendre, dès avril 1996, une première sentence importante dans un dossier d'infraction où un ancien propriétaire de pourvoirie s'est vu imposé une amende pour avoir chassé le canard à l'aide d'appâts, ce qui était contraire aux règlements découlant de la Convention concernant les oiseaux migrateurs.
