Well, 350 years ago, in the trial of Strafford, John Pym apparently said they were eroding the traditional legal balance in the Constitution that the legislature is there to legislate, the crown is there to prosecute, the courts are there to uphold the law, to be the guardian of rights, the guardian of the Constitution.
