F0006 in connection with the accusations against him (by the EU anti-fraud authority OLAF) of improper use of the secretarial assistance allowance for staff
...[+++], he had claimed that it had been established after a comprehensive, detailed investigation that he had in no way improperly used EU monies and that fault had been found only with a formal error on the part of his accounts manager at the time, Mr Christoph Matznetter, a tax adviser now State Secretary for Finance in the Austrian Government, who, according to Mr Martin, had incorrectly charged three staff computers and two telephone bills to the secretarial assistance allowance instead of to the office expenses allowance. Hans-Peter Martin aurait affirmé, à propos des accusations d'utilisation abusive de l'indemnité de secrétariat des collaborateurs, formulées à son encontre par l'OLAF (Office de lutte anti-fraude de l'UE), que des recherches approfondies auraient révélé qu'il n'avait nullement abusé des fonds communautaires et que seul un vice de forme de la part de son comptable d'alors, le conseiller fiscal Christoph Matznetter, nommé depuis Secrétaire d'État aux Finances au sein du gouvernement autrichien, aurait fait l'objet de critiques, celui-ci ayant comptabilisé par erreur trois ordinateurs d'assistants et deux factures téléphoniques sur l'indemnité de secrétariat, au lieu de les comptabiliser sur l'indemnité de frais de bureau.
