Where, in the territory of the Community, the marking of live animals requires the attachment of a tag, band, ring or other device, or the marking of a part of the animal's anatomy, or the implantation of microchip transponders, this shall be undertaken with due regard to humane care, well-being and natural behaviour of the specimen concerned.
Lorsque, sur le territoire de la Communauté, le marquage d'animaux vivants nécessite la fixation d'une étiquette, d'un ruban, d'une bague ou de tout autre dispositif, le marquage d'une partie de l'anatomie de l'animal ou l'implantation de transpondeurs à micropuce, il s'effectue avec tous les soins requis, par égard au bien-être et au comportement naturel des spécimens concernés.
