With the exception of test No 2 for inside rear view mirrors (see item 4.2.2.6.1), the pendulum is in the vertical position while the horizontal and vertical longitudinal planes passing through the centre of the hammer must pass through the centre of the reflecting surface as defined in Annex 1, Item 9. The longitudinal direction of swing of the pendulum must be parallel to the median longitudinal plane of the vehicle.
