With JET and the specialized devices in construction or in operation in the Associated Laboratories, such as TORE SUPRA in France, ASDEX-UPGRADE and WENDELSTEIN 7-AS in Germany, RFX and FTU in Italy, COMPASS in the UK, and TCV in Switzerland, Europe is firmly laying the ground for the Next Step, an engineering test reactor, which in Europe is called NET, the Next European Torus.
