In terms of fishing opportunities, 19 tuna seiners, 14 pole-and-line vessels and 4 surface longliners will be authorised to fish (with the total annual number of licences for tuna vessels dropping from 70 to 37 by comparison with the previous protocol), as will shrimp trawlers and fin-fish/cephalopod trawlers with a total tonnage of 4 400 GRT per year for each category. However, at the request of the Community, exploratory fishing trips may be carried out under the agreement.
