The scheme will be granted to beneficiaries who have taken on board the relevant international standards relating to sustainable development, including basic human rights conventions (agreements designed to uphold political and economic and social rights, combat torture and discrimination on grounds of race and gender, and protect women's and children's rights), labour rights conventions and certain conventions relating to environmental protection (e.g. conventions designed to combat trafficking in endangered spec ...[+++]ies and to protect the ozone layer), as well as the various conventions relating to the fight against illegal drugs production and trafficking, which is of course an important development policy (see above).

2. For the purposes of paragraph 1, “international auditing standards” means International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), International Standard on Quality Control (ISQC 1) and other related Standards issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) through the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), in so far as they are relevant to the statutory audit.
