We do, however, regret the fact that the categories covered by the June 2005 agreement only included eight of the 10 products that were subject to limits until 31 December of this year, and on this point I would like you to clarify what the Commission’s strategy is going to be for monitoring the two categories of products that have been excluded from the agreed double control system, which are cotton fabrics and table and kitchen linen.

For my part, I see the doubling of parental benefits as an extraordinarily important addition to the social fabric of Canada.

To prevent circumvention of textiles trade and to guarantee the origin of products from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 11 most sensitive textiles products for the EU (cotton yarn, woven cotton and synthetic fabrics, pullovers, blouses, shirts, trousers, terry towelling, woven overcoats, suits, etc.) will be submitted to a double-checking system (licensing).
