In responding to the standing committee's recommendations the government noted that: -an expert panel, comprised of specialists in marketing, package design and consumer behaviour, and chosen in collaboration with provincial and territorial partners in the National Strategy to Reduce Tobacco Use, has established a study framework designed to determine what relationship may exist between generic packaging and the taking up of smoking by youth.
Dans sa réponse aux recommandations du comité permanent, le gouvernement disait ceci: .le comité d'experts-formé de spécialistes en matière de marketing, de conception d'emballages et de comportement des consommateurs, choisis avec les participants provinciaux et territoriaux à la Stratégie nationale de lutte contre le tabagisme-a établi un cadre d'étude ayant pour but de déterminer le lien existant entre l'emballage neutre le fait de commencer à fumer chez les jeunes.
