One other thing—and this is not to contradict or to debate what Mr. Lee suggested—is that I would strongly suggest that, contrary to what he said about having a choice between going after ecstasy or some of the lower-level drugs or going after the high-level drugs, I'm horrified of the stepping-stone drugs, beginning at the low-level drugs and then.no one starts out on heroin.

Par ailleurs, je ne veux pas contredire ou contester ce que M. Lee a dit, mais je m'inscris en faux contre son affirmation, quand il a dit que nous avons le choix entre cibler l'ecstasy ou d'autres drogues douces ou bien s'en prendre plutôt aux drogues dures. Je suis épouvanté par les drogues introductives. Cela commence par des drogues douces et ensuite.personne ne commence par l'héroïne.

Mr. Chuck Cadman (Surrey North, Ref.): Just to clarify this in my own mind along the lines of what Mr. Lee was asking about, we had a case in B.C. a few years ago—and it was low-profile—in which a fellow escaped from a Colorado prison, I believe, ran across the border and was picked up in southern B.C. The States wanted him back, we wanted to deport him, and then he put in a refugee claim.

Nous avons eu il y a quelques années une affaire en Colombie-Britannique, dont on a d'ailleurs peu parlé, dans laquelle un type s'est échappé d'une prison du Colorado, je crois, a traversé la frontière et s'est fait ramasser dans le sud de la Colombie-Britannique.
