For obvious reasons, it is not possible to propose the complete abolition of vivisection, but I call for amendments to the text so as to include non-invasive practices and to ban the use of animals for medico-legal investigations and for teaching, while preventing exceptions to the humane method of killing and the ban on the use of endangered or wild animals by setting up a European guarantee committee.
Pour des raisons évidentes, il n’est pas possible de proposer l’abolition complète de la vivisection, mais j’appelle à l’introduction dans le texte d’amendements permettant d’inclure des techniques non invasives et d’interdire l’utilisation d’animaux dans le cadre des investigations médico-légales et de l’enseignement; parallèlement, la création d’un comité européen de garantie doit empêcher les exceptions à la méthode humaine de sacrifice et à l’interdiction de l’utilisation d’animaux menacés ou sauvages.
