In 2011, as part of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Canada made very specific recommendations to the Myanmar government on the controlling forces, the human rights training needed, banning the use of anti-personnel mines, cooperating with respect to the free circulation of human rights information around the country, the standards aimed at limiting restrictions on fundamental freedoms of expression, of assembly, of association, of the press and of religion, as well as reforming the judiciary.
En 2011, dans le cadre du Conseil des droits de l'homme des Nations Unies, le Canada a fait des recommandations très précises au gouvernement du Myanmar concernant les forces de l'ordre, la formation nécessaire en matière de droits de l'homme, l'interdiction d'employer des mines antipersonnel, la coopération en vue de laisser circuler librement dans tout le pays l'information sur la situation des droits de l'homme, les normes visant à limiter les restrictions aux libertés fondamentales d'expression, de réunion, d'association, de presse et de religion ainsi que la réforme du système judiciaire.
