Welcomes the work of the inter-sessional open-ended working group of the UNCHR in charge of preparing a draft legally binding normative instrument for the protection of all persons from enforced disappearance; and supports the drafting of a convention on protection and assistance for victims of terrorist attacks; calls on the UNCHR to adopt, as a matter of priority, a draft convention on the protection of all persons from enforced disappearance; and urges the Council and all governments of Member States to support both working groups, with ...[+++]a view to early adoption of the convention by the General Assembly of the United Nations;

Welcomes the work of the inter-sessional open-ended working group of the CHR in charge of preparing a draft legally binding normative instrument for the protection of all persons from enforced disappearance; calls on the Commission on Human Rights to adopt, as a matter of priority, a draft convention on the protection of all persons from enforced disappearance; and urges the Council and all governments of Member States to support the working group, with a view to early adoption ...[+++]of the convention by the General Assembly of the United Nations;

SUGGESTS the establishment of an open-ended Working Group to monitor and evaluate the programme of work on Protected Areas; STRESSES the need to secure the commitment of the Parties to an ambitious and targeted work programme, respecting the bottom-up approach, to be implemented immediately; and AGREES to consider, if the assessment indicates that the programme of work is not adequate, the adoption of additional measures under the CBD;

2. The European Union welcomes Decision V/26 of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity convening an Ad hoc Open-ended Working Group on Access and Benefit-sharing with a mandate to develop guidelines and other approaches for submission to the VI Conference of the Parties and welcomes the work of the Panel of Experts on Access and Benefit-sharing.
