To remove any interference, add 10 ml of the EDTA solution (4.5), several drops of the phenolphtalein solution (4.4) and stir in, drop by drop, sodium hydroxide solution (4.3) until it turns red, then finally add a few more drops of sodium hydroxide to ensure an excess (usually 1 ml of sodium hydroxide is sufficient to neutralise the sample and ensure an excess).
Pour éviter d'éventuelles interférences, ajouter 10 ml de la solution d'EDTA (4.5.), quelques gouttes de solution de phénolphtaléine (4.4.) et, en agitant, goutte à goutte de la solution d'hydroxyde de sodium (4.3.) jusqu'à coloration rouge, et finalement quelques gouttes d'hydroxyde de sodium en excès (généralement 1 ml d'hydroxyde de sodium suffit pour la neutralisation et l'excès).
