Its geographical boundaries are formed by the valley of the Neckar river to the south-east and north-east, the steep slopes down to the Stuttgart basin and the Nesenbach valley to the north, and the Schönbuch forest hills to the west and south-west.
L’aire géographique est délimitée au sud-est et au nord-est par la vallée du Neckar, au nord par les pentes escarpées menant au vallon encaissé où se situe Stuttgart, autrement dit, la vallée du Nesenbach, et à l’ouest et au sud-ouest par les hauteurs de la forêt de Schönbuch.
