Le 7 février 1998, l'accord sur la conservation des dauphins (fondé sur l'accord La Jolla, de 1992, à caractère facultatif) a été adopté pour donner naissance au programme international de conservation des dauphins (PICD), lequel revêt désormais un caractère obligatoire à la suite des modifications introduites en 1995 (déclaration de Panama).
On 7 February 1998 the Agreement on Dolphin Conservation (which had its origins in the La Jolla agreement, an optional agreement signed in 1992) was adopted. This was followed by the International Dolphin Conservation Programme (IDCP), which became a mandatory agreement following the amendments made in 1995 (Panama Declaration).
