La ligne de transport qui va de l'intérieur vers le Lower Mainland permettra d'acheminer l'électricité des centrales éloignées vers notre centre de distribution situé dans le couloir Vancouver/Victoria, car, actuellement, nous n'avons que 4 lignes pour transporter toute cette électricité vers le Lower Mainland, ce qui représente un gros risque pour notre système; c'est d'ailleurs la raison pour laquelle nous avons besoin de centrales comme celle de Burrard Thermal, en cas de capacité insuffisante.
One of them is the Interior to Lower Mainland Transmission Line which will eventually remove the congestion of moving electricity from those big remote sources into our load centre in the Vancouver/Victoria corridor where we have a relatively small number of transmission lines interconnecting all of that generation, four in fact, into the Lower Mainland area which creates a lot of risk on our system, which is why we need plants like Burrard Thermal to continue to operate to provide that backup capacity when things go wrong.
