But there has been little in the way of practical decision-making, apart from renaming the IMF Interim Committee, to be known henceforth as the 'International Monetary and Financial Committee'.

An interim committee was then set up (Decision 2000/143/CSFP).

I would remind you that in 1996, the IMF/World Bank interim and development committees approved, at their respective annual meetings, an initiative on the debt of highly indebted poor countries, the HIPC initiative.

Therefore, the Council Decision of 1999 in Article 13.5 asks the Commission to submit to the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers, the Economic and Social Committee and to the Committee of the Regions "a first interim report on the initial operational implementation of this programme by 30 June 2002".
