Recent Taliban attacks, such as improvised explosive devices, IED, attacks and ambushes against convoys moving along main routes; direct attacks against Canadian troops protecting the construction of the road — code-named Route Summit — and those engaged in the actual construction; and the killing of several prominent government officials and politicians in Kandahar point to a strategy that they are likely to carry on into the winter.
