1. La substance «Bêta-carotène» appartenant à la partie 1 «Caroténoïdes et xanthophylles» du groupe des «Matières colorantes, y compris les pigments» peut être autorisée conformément à la directive 70/524/CEE en tant qu'additif, E 160a, dans l'alimentation des animaux dans les conditions reprises à l'annexe I du présent règlement.
