on figurant dans le rapport annuel du Conseil sur le dialogue sur les droits de l'homme avec la Chine, dressant, sur la base d'une multitude d'informations, une longue liste de violations des droits de l'homme, comportant notamment des rapports multiples faisant état d'emprisonnements politiques, particulièrement de membres de minorités, d'accusations de torture, de recours largement répandu au travail forcé, d'application fréquente de la peine de mort et de répression systématique de la liberté de religion, de la liberté de parole et d'expression (notamment dans le cadre du traitement de
...[+++]la population au Tibet) et de la liberté de la presse, y compris Internet; déplore qu'aucun progrès important n'ait été accompli en ce qui concerne la ratification et la mise en œuvre du Pacte international relatif aux droits civils et politiques, ou la mise en liberté de prisonniers liés aux événements de 1989 sur la place Tiananmen; considère que ce dialogue constitue un instrument valable et un élément important du dialogue stratégique global entre l'UE et la Chine dès lors que les droits humains doivent être traités en tant que question prioritaire; demande au Conseil et à la Commission de poursuivre résolument leurs efforts même si ceux-ci ne portent leurs fruits qu'à moyen terme; demande à la Chine et au Conseil d'envisager d'améliorer le dialogue en recourant à la simple décision pratique consistant à introduire l'interprétation simultanée; espère que des innovations comme la tenue immédiatement l'un après l'autre, du dialogue politique à haut niveau et du séminaire législatif pourraient conduire à de plus fortes synergies; souligne que des relations commerciales de plus en plus positives doivent aller de pair avec les réformes en matière de droits de l'homme; demande au Conseil d'inviter les membres du Parlement européen à participer à ces dialogues de la même façon que des invitations en ce sens ont été lancées aux députés chinois; 36. ...[+++]he ratification and implementation of the ICCPR or the release of prisoners connected with the 1989 events in Tiananmen; regards the Dialogue as a valuable instrument and an important element of the overall strategic dialogue between the EU and China where human rights must be treated as a priority concern; calls on Council and Commission to undertake strenuous efforts even if they can bear fruit only in the medium-term; asks China and the Council to consider improving the Dialogue by the simple practical decision of introducing simultaneous interpretation; is hopeful that innovations such as holding the high level political dialogue as well as the legislative seminar directly after one another could lead to stronger synergies; stresses that an increasingly positive trade relationship must be contingent on human rights reforms; asks the Council to invite Members of the European Parliament in the same way that Chinese parliamentarians have been invited;
