Ce projet de loi va permettre au Canada de faire figure de chef de file aux tribunes internationales, de remplir ses obligations lorsqu'il accueillera sous peu le Sommet du G-8, et de continuer à présenter le Canada et particulièrement Montréal comme un emplacement de choix pour les sièges d'organisations gouvernementales internationales.
The proposals in this bill will permit Canada to show leadership in international fora, to fulfil its obligations in hosting the upcoming G-8 Summit, and to continue to present Canada, and notably the city of Montreal, which will be directly affected by these changes, as a prime location for the establishment of the head offices of international governmental organizations.
