oordonnée du réseau numérique à intégration de services (RNIS) dans la Communauté ; vu le rapport annuel de 1993 sur l'état d'avancement du RNIS, présenté par la Commission ; eu égard au lancement à la fin de l'année 1993 de l'EURO-RNIS sur la base de normes harmonisées ; considérant que la recommandation du Conseil du 5 juin 1992 (1) demande l'appl
ication au RNIS des principes de la fourniture d' ...[+++]un réseau ouvert ; considérant que dans sa résolution du 5 juin 1992 (2) le Conseil a reconnu l'importance de développer le RNIS dans le cadre de réseaux transeuropéens ; considérant que l'EURO-RNIS constitue un premier élément majeur des réseaux d'information avancés de la Communauté ; (1) JO n° L 200 du 18.7.1992, p. 10 (2) JO n° C 158 du 25.6.1992, p. 1. considérant que l'EURO-RNIS évoluera rapidement vers une plate-forme d'accès et de fourniture universelle pour les services génériques et les applications ; considérant que l'EURO-RNIS revêt une importance particulière pour les 14 millions de petites et moyennes entreprises de la Communauté, qui sont par nature tributaires de l'offre d'un service général accessible au public, encourage les opérateurs de réseaux publics : - à poursuivre leur coordination en ce qui concerne l'introduction de l'EURO-RNIS dans la Communauté ; - à coopérer en vue de renforcer un ensemble de services commun, notamment afin d'assurer l'interopérabilité des services génériques; - à introduire un service support harmonisé en mode paquet sur le canal D de l'accès RNIS dans toute la Communauté, en tenant compte de la demande du marché ; invite la Commission : - à poursuivre la promotion de l'introduction coordonnée de l'EURO- RNIS dans les Etats membres de la Communauté ; - à continuer d'apporter un soutien au Forum européen des utilisateurs du RNIS ; - à prendre au besoin les i ...- 4TH ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT ON THE ISDN - COUNCIL CONCLUSIONS The Council, Having regard to Council Recommendation 86/659/EEC on the co-ordinated introduction of the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) in the Community; Having regard to the Annual ISDN Progress Report 1993 from the Commission; Having regard to the launching of EURO-ISDN based on harmonized standards at the end of 1993; Whereas the Council Recommendation of 5 June 1992 (1) calls for the application of the
open network access principles to ISDN; Whereas the Council in its Resolu
...[+++]tion of 5 June 1992 (2) has recognized the importance of developing ISDN in the context of trans- European networks; Whereas EURO-ISDN is considered as a first major element of the advanced information networks in the Community; Whereas EURO-ISDN will rapidly develop into a universal access and delivery platform for generic services and applications; Whereas EURO-ISDN is of particular importance for the 14 million small and medium-sized enterprises in the Community which typically depend on a general, publically available service offering; Encourages the public network operators: - to continue their co-ordination with regard to the introduction of EURO-ISDN in the Community; (1) OJ No L 200, 18.7.1992, p. 10 (2) OJ No C 158, 25.6.1992, p. 1. - to co-operate for the enhancement of the common set of services notably with a view to ensuring interoperability of generic services; - to introduce a harmonized packet mode bearer service on the D-channel on the ISDN access throughout the Community, taking into account market demand; Invites the Commission: - to continue with the promotion of the co-ordinated introduction of EURO-ISDN in the Member States of the Community; - to continue with the support for the European ISDN User Forum; - to undertake where necessary suitable initiatives for the availability of compatible generic services.
