Pour ce qui est de la television directe par satellite, rappelons que la Commission europeenne a propose aux Douze une Directive qui demande aux Etats membres d'adopter des normes de la famille "Mac paquets" afin d'assurer a l'espace audiovisuel europeen l'unite indispensable d'une part et de soutenir d'autre part l'evolution progressive vers la TV de haute definition.
As regards direct broadcasting by satellite, it should be noted that the Commission has proposed to the Twelve the adoption of a directive calling on the Member States to adopt "MAC-packet" standards designed, on the one hand, to ensure essential uniformity in European television broadcasting and, on the other, to promote the gradual trend towards high-definition TV.
