L'honorable Jack Austin (leader du gouvernement) : Honorables sénateurs, je remercie le sénateur St. Germain d'avoir mentionné l'annonce de la nomination de M. le juge Frank Iacobucci, ancien juge à la Cour suprême du Canada, comme représentant du gouvernement pour diriger les discussions relatives à la responsabilité du gouvernement du Canada et de certaines organisations religieuses dans l'affaire des pensionnats indiens.

Jack Austin (Leader of the Government): Honourable senators, I thank Senator St. Germain for his reference to the announcement on the appointment of Mr. Justice Frank Iacobucci, formerly a judge of the Supreme Court of Canada, to act as the government's representative to lead discussions with respect to issues relating to the responsibility of the Government of Canada and certain religious organizations regarding Indian residential schools.
