Finally, the Commission proposes amending the provisions of the current regulation governing the requirement to comply with the condition assessment scheme (CAS), in order to ensure that, from 2005, all single-hulled tankers in Categories 2 and 3 which are older than 15 years at that date are banned from entering ports and offshore terminals of EU Member States, regardless of what flag they are flying, if they do not meet the requirements of the CAS.
