(r ter) "réseau isolé", le réseau ferroviaire d'un État membre, ou une partie de celui-ci, dont l'écartement des voies diffère de l'écartement nominal standard européen (1435mm), pour lequel certains investissements importants en infrastructures ne peuvent se justifier en termes de rentabilité, en raison des spécificités de ce réseau liées à son éloignement géographique ou à sa situation périphérique.
(rb) 'isolated network' means the rail network of a Member State, or a part thereof, with a track gauge which is different from that of the European standard nominal track gauge (1435 mm), for which certain major infrastructure investments cannot be justified in economic cost-benefit terms by virtue of the specificities of that network arising from its geographic detachment or peripheral location;
