f a bill payable at sight or at a fixed period after sight is undated, any holder may insert therein the true date of issue or acceptance, and the bill shall be payable accordingly, but where the holder in good faith and by mistake inserts a wrong date, or in every other case where a wrong date is inserted, if the bill subsequently comes in

Le détenteur peut indiquer la date véritable soit de l’émission, sur une lettre expressé-ment payable à un certain délai de date et émise sans être datée, soit de l’acceptation, sur une lettre payable à vue ou à un certain délai de vue et dont l’acceptation n’est pas datée. La lettre qui porte une date erronée apposée par erreur par le détenteur de bonne foi, ou apposée par toute autre personne, et passe ensuite entre les mains d’un détenteur régulier n’est pas pour autant nulle de ce fait et reste payable à cette date comme s’il s’agissait de la date véritable.
