In accordance with the first paragraph of Article 17 of the Statute and the first paragraph of Article 5 of Annex I to the Statute, if, in the Chamber of five Judges or in the full court, there is an even number of Judges, as a result of a Judge's being absent or prevented from acting, the Judge who is the first in the reverse order to that provided for in Article 6 shall abstain from taking part in the deliberations, unless he is the Judge-Rapporteur.
Conformément aux articles 17, premier alinéa, du statut et 5, premier alinéa, de l'annexe I dudit statut, si, dans la chambre à cinq juges ou au sein de l'assemblée plénière, les juges, par suite d'absence ou d'empêchement, sont en nombre pair, le juge le premier dans l'ordre inverse de celui prévu à l'article 6, s'abstient de participer aux délibérations, sauf s'il s'agit du juge rapporteur.
